Your website name is what humans see when they visit your website, but it’s also what appears on Google when your website pages show up. Screenreaders will be reading this website name, and it will be visible in browser tabs too!

How to Change the Site Title Font on Squarespace

You can change the site title to any font you like, as long as the font is on Squarespace! However, I recommend you match the site title font with one already on your website. This will stop the website from loading lots of font files, and also maintain consistency when it comes to your brand.

  1. In the Home Menu, click Website > Pages.

  2. Click the Paintbrush Icon in the top right corner.

  3. Go to Fonts > Assign Styles.

  4. Under Header, select Site Title.

  5. Choose whether you want to match the font to your Heading, Paragraph or Miscellaneous fonts.

  6. Alternatively, choose Custom and select a new font from the list of available fonts.

How to Add a Custom Font to the Site Title on Squarespace

In some cases, you may want to add a custom font to the site title on your Squarespace website. This is a font that does not exist in Squarespace. The easiest way is to upload your website name as an image, created with a program like Canva.

Alternatively, you can use a small snippet of CSS to customise the font of your site title. I prefer this method as it means your website has one less image to load!

  1. In the Home Menu, click Website and scroll down to the bottom.

  2. Click Website Tools > Custom CSS.

  3. Copy and paste the custom CSS below into the box.

  4. Replace FONTNAME with the name of your font and click Save.

// Add Custom Font to Site Title //

.header-title-text {
  font-family: FONTNAME !important;
}

How to Change the Site Title Size on Squarespace

You can change the site title size on Squarespace to be as big or as small as you want. I recommend adjusting the font size so it is larger than the size of the navigation links and clear to read. Do not make the size so large that it forces the whole Site Header to be huge!

  1. In the Home Menu, click Website > Pages.

  2. Click the Paintbrush Icon in the top right corner.

  3. Go to Fonts > Assign Styles.

  4. Under Header, select Site Title.

  5. Choose whether you want to match the size to your various Heading, Paragraph or Miscellaneous sizes.

  6. Alternatively, choose Custom and adjust the font size using the slider.
